Meeting Preview

The MCD Contracting Esperance Speedway returns after a short break this Sunday Night. Featured on the program this weekend is the Esperance Holden Production Sedan South East Open and Wingless Sprintcars.

The Esperance Holden Production Sedan South East Open will once again be a hotly contested event. Sean Barrett heads in to this weekend with the most form winning in Esperance and Kalgoorlie on his last two race meetings.

Rob Bawdon and Dean Shore will join the field from Kalgoorlie and these seasoned competitors are always in the mix. Jacky Moroney in his VS Commodore is also amongst the nominations and sure to be at the pointy end at the end of the night.

The Wingless Sprintcars will make their long awaited debut at Esperance Speedway this weekend. Current Western Australian Number two Brendon Wedge leads the nominations of a small but quality field.

Wingless Sprintcars are powered by a V6 Holden Commodore engine in a Sprint car chassis that as the name suggest are raced without wings. These machines are certainly sure to put on some action at Esperance Speedway this Sunday Night.

The Esperance Combined Tyre and Mechanical Burnout Division also return on Sunday Night with Zak Swann, Luke O’Shannessy, Jaydon Hurst and Sheehan Varney certain to put on a show for the crowd.

The Esperance Outdoor Power Equipment Street Stocks will be back in action this Sunday Night. Zane Humphrys will return with the number 39 sure to be once again up the front after putting in a great effort at the recent State Title. Zane qualified directly into the A Main which is a huge achievement, eventually finishing 12th overall. Dylan Williams will be back inaction along with Linton Dickerson and Wade Rigney.

The New Era Shearing Junior Sedans will also be on the schedule this Sunday night.

Charlie Tate will make his debut on board an ex Brown, Charade and will join Hayley and Chris Dickerson in becoming a 3rd generation racer at Esperance Speedway. Lucas Mayfield and his team have been busy getting their car prepared after an altercation with the back straight fence last meeting. Team Brown also have been busy with Logan rolling the car last meeting in Kalgoorlie. The junior field will once again be large and provide some action packed racing.

Racing gets underway from 6pm this Sunday Night with gates opening at 4pm.
