Meeting Preview

The MCD Contracting Esperance Speedway returns after a short break this Saturday for the final night of the Kalgoorlie Esperance Challenge. The Kalgoorlie Esperance Challenge is an annual event where drivers from all divisions compete at both Kalgoorlie and Esperance for point for their respective clubs. The Club with the most points over the two nights of racing is the winner and hold bragging rights for the next 12 months. Esperance took out the win on rival turf in February and will be planning on hanging onto a healthy point’s advantage and to take out the win this Saturday night. Featured on the program this weekend are Juniors, Street Stocks, AMCA Nationals and Production Sedans.

This Saturday night will also double as round 3 in the AMCA Action Series. Newly Crowned State Champion Sean Mazzuchelli from Kalgoorlie heads the nomination list. A clinical Mazzuchelli was too good for his rivals in the State Championship decider earlier in the month and will be keen to continue his good form this weekend. Also Representing team Kalgoorlie is David Boyes and Brett Morrison. Esperance’s hopes will rest with Murray Parsons Jnr and Greg Horan who have both been up the pointy end this season.

The J & N Dickerson Fabrication Production Sedans are back this weekend with eight drivers nominated. Josh Stewart is the man in form at the moment after showing great speed lately. Rob Bawdon has put his mechanical gremlins behind him and will be looking for a trouble free run and maximum points for Team Kalgoorlie. Esperance Captain Sean Barrett, Tye Tyrell and Blake Fletcher will all be looking for points for Team Esperance while Adrian Reeves is putting in a massive effort to get here in his Falcon to represent Team Kalgoorlie.

The Esperance Outdoor Power Equipment Street Stocks will be back in action this Saturday Night headlined by Current State Champion Jack Barnewall. Kalgoorlie Captain Barnewall who is certainly no stranger to Esperance Speedway will be the man to beat. Travis Moynihan and Tanya Kemp will also race for Team Kalgoorlie. Team Esperance will consist of Zane Humphrys, Dylan Williams and Wade Rigney.

The New Era Shearing Junior Sedans will also be on the schedule this Sunday night, split into New Stars and Top Stars due to the large nomination list Junior racing will be thick and Fast this weekend.

Esperance will be represented by Hayden Mortimer who has just returned from New Zealand competing for the Junior Sedan Racing Association. Mortimer will use his valuable overseas racing experience to advantage this weekend as he competes against a quality field of drivers. Team Dellar from Kalgoorlie consisting of Chloe, Kayne and Lachie will be in Esperance this weekend looking to put Kalgoorlie on the top step of the Podium. Team Brown drivers Cameron, Kaden and Logan will be amongst the action as well this weekend.

Racing gets underway from 6pm this Sunday Night with gates opening at 4pm.
