THIS weekend’s round of the 360 Sprintcar Series will have a battle with a battle.
Brothers Michael and Daniel Keen, both from Bunbury, will both be chasing victory – and of course to beat each other.
The boys started to get attention a handful of years ago when they were racing Wingless Sprints – before progressing to sprintcars.
They have both raced in the 360 and 410 (open) categories in various racing programs in recent years.
Last year Daniel opted to sit out for most of the season in the 410 car, with high-profile and multiple state champion Ryan Farrell driving the W90.
The plan was for the team to learn from the experienced Farrell and also concentrate on Michael’s program in the 360 division.
It was a tough season for Farrell who was dogged by bad luck, but Michael enjoyed some solid results – that culminated in him winning the WA 360 Sprintcar Championship.
He also tried his hand in the WA Limited Sprintcars – winning that WA championship as well. Both boys also had a few drivers in the 410 division.
This season they have opted to concentrate on the 360 division and both have had feature race success.
They return to racing in Esperance this weekend after being away on the east coast where Michael was crewing for American Dominic Scelzi.
Who will win this weekend’s round in Esperance?
Only time will tell but one thing is for sure – these Bunbury brothers are KEEN!
